Quaker parrots are two color parrots and the name Myiopsitta monachus or Quaker parrot was assigned because of color feature similiar to monk's frock. Quaker parrots are not so color interesting. The main colors consist of light grey and green. Because all Quaker parrots are so different we cannot establish the difference between male, female or younger ones. We also know blue and yellow color mutation of Quaker parrots.
We have to keep in mind that Quaker parrots are South American parrots so they need lots of fruit and vegetables along with standard grainy food. Quaker parrots also like husked corn, groundnuts and walnuts very much. Newborn and younger Quaker parrots we feed with egg food, grains, milk corn, calcium and vitamins.
Quaker parrots are the only parrots that don't nest in the tree hollow but they build big community nests from grass and tree branches. Female hatches from 4 to 6 eggs and youngsters are out in 26 days. Youngsters leave the nest after 45 days but parents are feeding them for three more weeks.

Quaker parrots are very active and always in moving. They like to bath, can survive at -25 degrees Celsius and can live up to 25 years.
